Mechanical Design Engineer | Design Consultancy

Remote | 12 month contract | £320 – £360 per day (Outside IR35)

 

12-month outside IR35 contract available for a Mechanical Design Engineer with specific experience in designing waterproof casework and mechatronics for medical applications.

 

You’ll be supporting a small R&D team to take the client’s concept through to production ready drawings.

 

This is a fully remote, 12-month contract starting in August. The contract has been assessed as outside IR35.

 

 

The Role

 

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support our client’s team in Leeds. You will co-ordinate with internal and external stakeholders to design and create CAD files for prototype builds, testing, and development. You will oversee the manufacturing process of products for technical launches.

 

 

Requirements

 

Are you the Mechanical Design Engineer we’re looking for? Here’s the toolkit you’ll need:

 

• Degree in Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Innovation or Industrial Design.
• Experience designing waterproof casework and mechatronics.
• Design for manufacture of plastic injection moulded assemblies.
• Able to write reports and documentation.
• Experienced in safety risk-assessments and FMEAs.
• Proficient user of Solidworks.
• Able to travel to Leeds from time-to-time.

 

 

Compensation

 

In return, expect:

 

• £320 - £360 per day (higher rate requires you to provide CAD license and workstation)
• Fully remote working
