This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer to take on a senior role within a dynamic R&D studio. You’ll lead the development of innovative medical devices, managing projects from concept through to production.
The position offers a balance of technical design, leadership, and mentoring responsibilities. You’ll be working on a variety of challenging projects, applying your expertise to solve complex engineering problems and deliver high-quality products.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll:
- Lead the design and development of medical devices, ensuring technical excellence.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks.
- Perform calculations and simulations, including FEA and injection moulding analysis.
- Develop manufacturing and assembly strategies for new products.
- Manage the workload of yourself and your team to meet project deadlines.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to their development.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver on technical and commercial project goals.
What You’ll Need
We’re looking for someone with:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in medical device design or similar regulated industries.
- Strong skills in 3D CAD, including SolidWorks.
- Proficiency in manufacturing processes such as injection moulding and assembly.
- A track record of leading projects and successfully launching products.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Experience mentoring or managing junior engineers.

- A salary of £55,000–£65,000.
- Paid overtime with the option to take time off in lieu.
